How much do you charge for your wedding planning services?

When is the best time to get married in Goa ?

It is always the best time to get married in Goa ! The land where the fun never sets. However if you are looking to have a beach wedding or an outdoor reception then it's best to avoid the monsoon season in Goa which lasts from June to September. The Goan winter season begins by mid November until March when it gets hot once again. The peak wedding season is between December to Febraury and the Super Peak Wedding Season is between Dec 25th and 5th January. Certain days like the 24th & 25th of December, 31st of December, 14th of February and some other famous dates might cost you much more than a regular day. Weekend dates might also be heavily booked so it is important that you book your venue well in advance.

What are the legalities involved for getting married in Goa ?

If you wish to get legally married in Goa which would be recognised by your state/country then the couple would require to undergo a civil registration of marriage or a court marriage in Goa which is accepted as legal evidence of the marriage. For this one of the parties must be of Goan origin or must have a Residence Certificate of Goa.

Foreigners & Non Goans getting married in Goa would need to produce their Birth Certificates and their passports along with affidavit stating that there exists no legal impediment whatsoever for the two parties to get married in Goa. They will then have to apply to the court under Article 248 of the Civil Registration Code in the presence of 4 witnesses.

Applicants would need to submit attested copies of their Birth Certificates, Residence Certificates, Passports & a 'No Impediment Certificate' We normally prefer that you complete your legal marriage registration in your own Country / State of India as it is less troublesome and cheaper. However as your Wedding Planners, we are ever ready to assist you right through the Registration of your Marriage in Goa. 

What are the licenses involved while planning a wedding in Goa ?

There are a number of licenses required for organizing weddings in Goa. As your wedding planners, we can assist you with proucuring all the necessary licences as per your event. If you wish to have a wedding on the beach, then a special NOC must be obtained for using the public beach for your wedding ceremony. An NOC from the local village Panchayat would also be required if you plan to use fireworks/sky lanterns, etc.

With regards to sound, an applicaiton would have to be made with the Collector and the Police to play loud music upto 10.30 PM. That is when all loud music shuts down in Goa. There is no licence for continuing loud music after this said time. If you wish to continue your party after hours then you would need to go into an Indoor Venue which is totally sound-proof.

Special Licences namely PPL (Phonographic Performance Ltd) and IPRS (Indian Performing Rights Society) will also need to be acquired for playing recorded music and for live performances which take place at your event. This is applicable for DJs, Bands and Dance Troupes.

Do you’ll organize only Hindu and Christian Weddings or others too?

We plan and coordinate weddings of all religions, cultures and traditions. In our time we have organized Hindu weddings (of different cultures of India), Christian weddings, Muslim weddings, Sikh weddings Jewish weddings, Parsi weddings, Buddhist weddings and Non-Religious weddings. We make no distinction between cultures, religions and nationalities and we treat them all with due respect.

Do you’ll organize only Weddings or other events as well?

The Big Day Wedding Planners are primarily concerned with weddings. These include all wedding related events like Engagements / Ring ceremonies, Sangeet parties, Mehndi / Haldi functions, Church weddings, Beach weddings, Reception parties, Nikaah, Bachelor parties & Hen’s nights, Boat cruises, Pre-wedding Theme parties, Renewal of Vows & Wedding Anniversaries.

However we also provide Event Management services for corporate functions like Conferences, Meetings, Incentives, Exhibitions, etc and private events like Birthday parties, Anniversaries, Christening parties and Theme party nights. Can we hire The Big Day for only a particular wedding service?

Definitely! The Big Day Wedding Planners can be involved in as little or as much of your wedding as you desire. It is your wedding and we cannot force you to do as we please. If you only want a coordination team for your Big Day then we would readily help with the coordination of your wedding without being financially involved with the vendors. Or if you want us to be only involved with the décor then we will only focus on that and nothing else.
